Cousin Cafe is among the most popular Hong Kong style cafe in the Fremont area and is quite busy on the weekends.
We stopped by the strip mall location on the weekend and not only was there a short queue out the door and a 15 minute wait but the Shanghainese restaurant and rice noodle restaurant next door were similar.
Cousin Cafe has an extensive menu featuring rice dishes, pasta dishes, grilled sizzling platters, congee, soup noodles and much more. We stuck with the set meals (that include a drink and soup). Our order:
Hainan Chicken with Yellow Rice - $16.50. Included lettuce with beef brisket sauce (a nice veggie addition), a lemon iced tea (solid) and Russian Borscht Soup (also solid). The Hainan Chicken is poached with a decent mix of white and dark meat. The ginger scallion sauce is freshly made and excellent. I also liked the yellow rice.
Baked Pork Chop with Twin Sauces - $9.50. It took awhile to arrive but the wait is worth it. It came out nice and hot and the pork chop was nicely grilled and flavorful. The two sauces were also quite good with the red sauce mixed with onions and the white cream sauce nicely caramelized from the baking. Overall very good.
Russian Borscht Soup - complimentary with set meal. Not overly sweet like A+ Cafe. Largely clear with good vegetables portion. Solid.
Lemon Ice Tea - complimentary with set meal. Solid.
Overall, Cousin Cafe is among the better Hong Kong style cafes in Fremont but also the Bay Area. The completion is largely lackluster but I'd come again and try more dishes even with the drive.
Cousin Cafe says they accept cash only but they accepted credit card for our bill. -

It's a Hong Kong style tea restaurant. We visited there 2 days in a row, one is happy hour (Daily 3:00pm - 6:00 pm or 9:00pm - close); the other is weekend breakfast.
Especially like their soup, noodles, porridges, The crispy fried chicken wings are recommended too.
The Price is pretty reasonable, especially when you visit in happy hour! The breakfast is ok. If you are looking for nice porridge or Hong Kong style breakfast, it's a nice place. But if you are looking for American style breakfast, you'll disappointed. The scramble eggs is so so. -

Menu is comprehensive. Flavor is lacking. Ordered a bolognese which didn't have much depth of flavor. Light sauce and not well baked.... probably not baked. The clay pot fish was also not flavorful and barely heated. Rice was not crunchy, pot was not hot. Two pieces of limp veggie on top, with fish that looked limp. This was on a Sunday afternoon so maybe not a regular cook. In any case, lacks flavor and expected detail. Easy improvements to drive up quality.

This is my go to place for breakfast. I usually ordered something from here either for breakfast, lunch or dinner at least once a week. The price is decent, the food quality is above average, the kitchen seems clean and the service is fast. It can be a bit hectic during Sunday morning but they do try to get everyone in and out fast. It is an Asian cafe so don't expect professional service; however, the waitresses here have always been very friendly and courteous to my family. My favorite dishes here are:
1. Pork and preserved egg porridge with soy sauce chow mein
2. Pan fried rock cod with toast
3. Cousin Pan fried noodle
4. Hai Nam chicken
5. Curry chicken
Although I haven't been dining in recently, we still order take out here quite often and I definitely prefer this place over Venus cafe
